ISTAT REPORTS SALARY RISE OF JUST 3% IN 2009
- The Italian National Statistic Institute (ISTAT) reports that increases in contractual wage rates rose slowed down in 2009. The average rise for the year came to 3% against 3.5% in 2008. Inflation in the same period rose by 0.8%. In December the rise was 0.1% over the month and 2.8% on an annual basis as opposed to +3.1% in November, when wages stayed the same as October.
